Conditions change
Water level, current, submerged hazards, bridge and cave clearance, shoreline access, weather, radar, marina services, and POI conditions may change rapidly. Reports and imagery can be incomplete, delayed, seasonal, or inaccurate.
Your responsibility
- Use current official charts, forecasts, warnings, and notices.
- Wear appropriate personal flotation equipment and carry required safety gear.
- Maintain a safe speed and lookout, and never operate impaired.
- Verify depth and hazards independently before approaching shore, cliffs, waterfalls, caves, or structures.
- Respect private property, closures, wildlife, and posted restrictions.
- Do not handle the app while operating a vessel when unsafe.
GPS and game zones
GPS can drift, especially near cliffs, trees, structures, and narrow coves. A displayed marker, stamping circle, successful stamp, or flag capture does not establish ownership, public access, navigability, or safety.
Emergencies
LakePoints does not monitor emergencies. Contact 911 or the appropriate local authority and use recognized marine distress procedures.
